| Los Angeles Basin Chapter Memorial Scholarship in honor of Ralph Grippo, Nagy Jacob, Bob
Fowler, and Vince Bush. In memory of these Chapter honorees, each year our Chapter offers a eight-hundred dollar scholarship to a college student working toward a degree in a construction-related field. In this way we honor past colleagues in a significant way. LABC has awarded this Scholarship through First Chance Foundation. |

Code Program Wins National Association of Counties Award Our LARUCP was selected for a 2000 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award.

Code Program Wins L.A. City Award The Los Angeles Regional Uniform Code Program was selected as one of the winners of the City of Los Angeles Productivity Improvement Award in November 1999. Special thanks to Ray Pearl of BIA, Martha Cox- Nitikman of BOMA, John Kelly of Los Angeles County, Stuart Tom of the City of Glendale, and Ben Mendoza of the City of San Fernando for their excellent presentation about the program to the City of Los Angeles Productivity Improvement Awards Evaluation Committee. The award was presented in a gala celebration in April, 2000.

| Los Angeles Regional Uniform
Code Program Wins L.A. County Award The Los Angeles Regional Uniform Code Program was selected as the Grand Prize winner for Los Angeles County Productivity and Quality Award. This is the highest award of its kind in Los Angeles County. This Award was presented on Thursday, October 14, 1999 during a major celebration at Universal Studios and again on Tuesday, November 2, 1999 during the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting (which was televised). Congratulation to all participants and all who contributed to the great success of the Los Angeles Regional Uniform Code Program. Special thanks to John Kelly and his staff for nominating the program for this award and to Stuart Tom (City of Glendale), City of Los Angeles staff, Building Industry Association (BIA), Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater Los Angeles (BOMA), among others for their support of this nomination.

Los Angeles Basin Chapter wins an International Conference of Building Officials 1999 "Chapter Award for Special Meritorious Achievement".
The Los Angeles Basin Chapter was recognized during the 1999 Joint Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

Honors CALBO 2002 ABM - The City of Burbank was select as one of the finalists for the CALBO Building Department of the Year Award. CALBO 2001 ABM - The City of Burbank was select as one of three finalists for the CALBO Building Department of the Year Award. CALBO 2000 ABM - Congratulations to Linda Haines, City of Downey Building Official, elected First Vice- President; and Andrew Adelman, City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, named CALBO Building Official of the Year. Ron Darville, Education Committee Co-Chair is a CALBO Training Institute Commissioner. Ron received an award at the 1999 CALBO Annual Business Meeting , and at the 1998 Los Angeles Basin Installation Banquet.
